• LENGTHS LABORATORY   

Object of activity: metrology of length, plane angle, area and deviations of shape and position

National measurement standards: national length measurement standard, national plane angle measurement standard

General goals:

• Research for development of the national and reference measurement standards and for providing traceability to SI units
• Works for dissemination of the units of measurement to the measurement standards of regional BRML laboratories and other laboratories in all fields of activity.

Calibration fields

Lengths:

• End measures: parallel-precision measurement standard blocks; measurement standards;
• Reference point measures: measuring rulers; tape line measures;
• Lasers with = 633 nm: laser interferometers;
• Area: planimeters; area measurement machines.

Angles:

• End measures: angle blocks; measurement standard polygons;
• Reference point measures: graduated circles and sectors;
• Lasers and scopes for surveying and alignment;
• Shape deviations and surface condition: straightness; flatness; roughness.

The LENGTH laboratory consists of two specialist groups: LENGHTS group and ANGLES group
